I attended the Steubenville Conference which was held at the Franciscan University campus. It was three days full of adoration, sessions, free time, bonding with other teens, Mass, worship music, and confession. We were the last group to attend the main campus event. Bob Rice, the host for our weekend, asked us to tweet who God is and use the hashtag #Steubie14. On Saturday, I attended a few sessions but my favorite was titled God Is in Media by Katie Hartfiel. I learnt that we shouldn’t be looking for validation from social media but validation from God that we are doing His will. I also learnt that people that we follow on twitter should reflect who we are and not some fake person that we want to be and a great example she used for this was Marilyn Monroe and how she changed to fit the media. Click here if you are interested in her talk. Social media enables me follow the speakers that attended on Twitter and like their Facebook pages. keeping up with there latest posts. Also I am able to keep in touch with all the kids I met there via social media. Here is a picture of Katie Hartfiel and I after her women’s session on Sunday
