This evening, my community had a block party. I think it was part of National Night Out. There was a lot of stuff for little kids there like a bounce house and ring toss and many other things. Something funny happened that shows the power of social media. I was walking around with my parents when we stood in front of a booth that was for the Republican Committee for re-elections in November. There was a yard sign advertising Stephen Bloom for re-election. My mom was telling my dad that Representative Stephen Bloom was the one she always shares his posts on FaceBook with my dad. Next thing we know Representative Bloom is walking over and introducing himself to us. We ended up having a nice chat about many different topics. It is funny how social media brought us together.
